More About Our Oak Orangeries

There are many benefits to installing a timber orangery – they are a great way to add extra space to your home which is usable all year round. All orangeries will add a touch of class and elegance to your home, but to make a truly stunning addition you can’t beat oak timber. The warm colour tones and the beautiful grain of the timber will make an oak orangery feel like home. Oak orangeries can be especially suited to rustic farmhouse style buildings which already have oak windows, but they can also be designed to complement more modern homes. As an optional extra, we are able to provide different paint or stain colours to the inside and outside of an orangery so for example you could have a white or cream paint on the outside, and a warm translucent stain colour on the inside to leave the natural oak grain on show.

Oak is generally more expensive than other timbers, but no other timber can match the classic look of oak, with its wide, open grain and distinctive colour. Because oak is a very slow growing timber, it is also considerably more durable than many other timbers and with proper maintenance an oak orangery can last many decades or even centuries before replacement is needed. This durability can actually make owning an oak conservatory cheaper when viewed over the long term, as uPVC and Aluminium buildings, while cheaper initially, will need replacing much sooner than a properly maintained oak orangery. The quality and longevity of an oak orangery will add considerable value to your home, and give you and any prospective future buyers peace of mind that it will not need to be replaced frequently or begin to look old and tired like some cheaper materials.
