Our Hardwood Orangeries

Our hardwood orangeries are made in the same style as orangeries were originally made, using beautiful high quality materials to develop an extension for your home. Traditional orangeries were used to grow citrus trees but as time progressed, orangeries become a modernised structure which specific features that led to them being used as extensions for the home.

Orangeries follow the same structure as conservatories except that the roof will generally have a centre mounted roof lantern followed by architectural features. Orangeries also have a brick base which is usually 1/4 of the height of the overall structure, however this can be varied depending on the hardwood orangery style.

Our expert craftsmen have years of experience in designing orangeries around customer specifications. We'll produce a mockup CAD drawing showing the entire structure and it's elements. All of the structures we fabricate are from hardwood, we don't manufacture with PVC or aluminium unless it's a decorative element such as a finial or window feature.

Our hardwood orangeries can provide a more substantial extension for a home than a standard conservatory. Orangeries, because of their framework and design are more suitable for listed properties, traditional properties, country houses, manors, large detached houses and even semi-detached properties. The hardwood framework allows for a much larger frame, this is because of the strength that is achieved using hardwood. The strength of the framework is achieved thanks to structural calculations and design which allow the orangery to support roof lanterns which are traditionally centred within the roof space and allow for an array of pitched glass units supported by rafters.

The hardwood we use has been checked at source to ensure quality, this ensures that you, as a consumer get the best possible quality. Inside our joinery, we operate a team of skilled craftsmen who operate CNC machinery which is programmed by our CAD designers to manufacture structures piece by piece. Each piece is checked before being sent on to be drilled / machined and then finally treated & painted. The team of wood & engineering experts carefully monitor the production all the way from start to finish to ensure absolute quality control.
